Workshop
“Extreme Events in Complex Systems – Welcome to Prof. J.R.Tredicce”.
Buenos
Aires, December 1-4, 2015.
Extreme and
rare events are nowadays the object of intensive research. They can have
devastating consequences and a major challenge is to predict them and, if
possible, to control them, making safer environments and systems. The aim of
this Workshop is to join up the scientific community working on nonlinear
phenomena in complex systems, with special emphasis in lasers, optics and
photonics, updated with the most recent developments and tendencies of the
theoretical and experimental aspects of the field of Extreme Events. It is also
foreseen to acknowledge Prof. Jorge R. Tredicce, in relation with his recent
60th birthday and his return to Argentina, and to acknowledge his inspiring
leadership during so many years, for so many research groups worldwide.
Topics to be covered by the Workshop
Nonlinear Dynamics and Chaos
Nonlinear Time Series Analysis and Extreme Events
Control of Chaos and Syncronization
Nonlinear Optics
